We share the Casperville Creations harvest with our community through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) share. A CSA is a partnership between a farm and individual community members. CSA members pay a one-time fee before the season begins to help cover the upfront growing costs (like seeds, irrigation, and labor). In exchange, they receive a weekly share of the crops.

2024 CSA shares go on sale February 5th

What does a CSA membership look like?

You will receive 6-8 items each week. These are harvested either the day before or the day of pick up. Most weeks you will receive one or more greens for salads and/or cooking. You will also typically receive other recognizable staples such as radishes, beets, turnips, carrots, garlic, and fresh herbs. Other items are highly seasonal: peas, beans, potatoes, onion, corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and winter squash. We do our best to ensure a high diversity and quantity of veggies each week, however, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature and sometimes things do not go as planned. It is also important to note that the first shares of the season will be heavier with greens in comparison to later shares. Our high mountain climate takes a while to come out of winter!

Can I customize my weekly share?

Each week, you will receive an email including items we are planning to have in that week's share. Please keep in mind, changes may be made on harvest day based on what's actually in the field. As more variety is available later on in the season, choices may be offered. We are happy to swap items when possible.

How many people does 1 CSA share feed?

That depends! Each share is designed to be a supplement to your normal groceries for a family of 4. If you have a larger family, eat plant-based, or cook often at home, you might consider buying more than one share. If there are only a couple of people in your home, you might consider sharing a membership with someone else.

Can someone else pickup for me?

Yes, you are welcome to send someone else on your behalf. All they need to do is give the member's name (the person who made the purchase) when they come during pickup time.

Are half shares available?

At this time a half share option is not available. Instead of us coordinating everyone’s on and off weeks, we hope that individuals could plan amongst each other. If one share is too big for you, we hope you can find a friend who would be willing to share it with you!

Is bulk buying available?

Weather permitting, we usually have extra that you can add on to your normal share.

Is anything certified organic?

Everything grown on our fields are grown in an organic discipline, meaning green manures, crop rotation, non GMO or chemically treated seeds, and no chemical herbicides, pesticides, or washes. However, our crops are not officially certified.

What if something is not to your satisfaction?

Occasionally something less than satisfactory slips through. We are always willing to replace or exchange any unsatisfactory items.

What if I can't make it to pick up?

We can make accommodations only with advance notice. Once the produce has been harvested and packed, we cannot reschedule. Please consider having a friend, relative, or neighbor pickup on your behalf if a conflict comes up at the last minute. Any shares that are not picked up will be donated to the local food pantry to feed someone in need.

Can I cancel a membership?

We hope you will give us the chance to replace any item you are unsatisfied with but in the event that you are very unhappy with the CSA program, we will offer a refund of any remaining weeks.

Can we get involved or volunteer?

We love to have CSA members schedule a family field tour to come see exactly where their food is coming from. This can be done anytime between June and August. We love our volunteers and could not do it all without you please email info@caspervillecreations.com for more information.
